The vernal equinox is about 70 days — and counting — away. Before spring arrives, the groundhog will have his say abut winter’s end. Groundhog Day is Feb. 2 and if Punxsutawney Phil doesn’t see his shadow that morning we could get an early spring, the legend says.

Light morning snow showers could create some issues along the Palmer Divide and east along Interstate 70, but the snow should be done by noon with a breezy wind through the afternoon in the Denver weather forecast.
