Officials with the LAPD said a white Kia was being driven by a robbery suspect they were pursuing. The suspect allegedly threw an AR-15 wrapped in plastic onto the road when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a backyard located near 84th Street and Flower Place in South LA’s Vermont Knolls neighborhood.

A high-speed pursuit in the Vermont Knolls neighborhood of South LA ended with a crash, leaving the suspect's vehicle wrecked in the yard of a home.

A robbery suspect is in custody Wednesday after he was arrested following a chase that ended in the South Los Angeles neighborhood of Vermont Knolls. Los Angeles Police Department officers were pursuing the suspect in a white Kia near 84th and Flower streets just before midnight on Tuesday.
