The ‘Where is Roadster?’ site keeps track of the Tesla as it zooms through space. At the time of writing, it is currently 228,647,460 miles from Earth. However, it's travelling back towards its home planet at the lightning-fast speed of 16,106 mph.

Elon Musk surprised the world by launching one of his own cars, a Tesla Roadster, into space as a test payload on the inaugural flight of the Falcon Heavy rocket from SpaceX.

Hundreds of protests at Tesla showrooms have also weighed on the company. Under the banner of a “Tesla Takedown,” opponents of Musk and Trump’s government policies have targeted the company to try to gain leverage over Musk, and demonstrators have continued to swarm Tesla locations, especially on weekends.
