The Memphis Police Department is at the scene of a three-vehicle crash involving one of their own Wednesday evening.

A low-speed police chase early Wednesday in north suburban Mundelein ended after a man suffering self-inflicted injuries crashed into a police car.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A Memphis Police cruiser was involved in a 3-car crash in Raleigh Wednesday evening, MPD said. Just after 5:30, Police said, one of their squad cars was struck at the intersection of Stage Road and Covington Pike.

Multiple roads in suburban Mundelein were shut down early Wednesday morning and traffic was rerouted after a “suspicious incident” involving a “low-speed” police pursuit ended with the driver crashing into a squad car.

A Lake County Sheriff’s Department squad car was hit by a truck during a low-speed chase overnight in north suburban Mundelein. According to the Mundelein Police Department, two Lake County sheriff’s deputies and one Mundelein police officer were taken to an area hospital and treated for minor injuries.
