The Boston Bruins conducted their exit meetings on Thursday, two days after the conclusion of a hugely disappointing 2024-25 season. It was especially brutal for Charlie McAvoy, who suffered a shoulder injury during the 4 Nations Face-Off in February that cost him the rest of the campaign.

BOSTON -- It all started the morning of Feb. 16, when the United States team for the 4 Nations Face-Off finally made it to Boston from Montreal through a major snowstorm. They sat on the runway for what felt like forever, had gotten in around 6 a.m.

After injuring his shoulder in a 4 Nations Face-Off game against Finland, McAvoy eventually ended up in Mass General to treat a staph infection
