Israel's government Friday said it sent two rescue planes to Amsterdam to evacuate its citizens who were injured in an outbreak of violence linked to a Europa League soccer game. Israeli and Dutch officials described the incident as antisemitic attacks.

Videos and reports indicated significant violence against Israelis after a game between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Ajax.

Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema condemned the “antisemitic hit-and-run squads” that targeted Maccabi fans, saying they were “attacked, abused and pelted with fireworks,” Reuters reported.
