A few years back, General Motors had to recall 142,000 Bolts in a major fiasco due to fire risk. This time around, however, just a small number of Bolts are being recalled, only 107.

The two recalls are related. A software glitch was triggered by a “malfunction in the software programming tool during servicing” for the prior recall, the NHTSA documents said. That might fail to notify drivers of defective battery parts that need to be replaced, according to the filing.

GM has issued a new recall for 107 Chevrolet Bolt EVs, targeting the 2020 to 2022 model years due to a risk of battery-related fires.

Chevrolet has issued an urgent recall of more than one hundred of its vehicles over concerns they are at risk of bursting into flames.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Tuesday General Motors would recall 107 Bolt EV and EUV vehicles over a fire risk. The recall covers previously repaired Bolt vehicles from model years 2020-2022.
