Clouds return with scattered showers tomorrow; cold front moves through Friday, increasing rain across the area.

It is expected to be a rainy Election Day throughout most of the day, but most of the severe weather risk especially the tornado risk should drop off a lot by the time we get into Tuesday morning. Scattered storms are expected throughout the morning hours with isolated storms lingering across NW LA for the afternoon.

Through this evening, some of the heavier showers and thunderstorms could bring some of us up to an additional inch of rainfall. While this moisture is helpful to break our drought, it could also cause some standing water around storm drains that are clogged with new fallen leaves.

When the polls open this morning, temperatures will be in the mid to upper 60s with sunny skies with temperatures increasing throughout the day.

For cities and towns east of I-35, your severe weather chances won’t arrive until after sunset. From roughly 6 PM to midnight is when today’s front will move through your neighborhood. Despite the sun being down, those storms could still be strong-to-severe bringing straight-line wind gusts and heavy rain.

The First Alert Weather Team says there’s a rather warm night ahead. Wednesday and Thursday will be humid with showers at times. Expect some tropical downpours but rainfall amounts will still likely be less than an inch from I-95 to the coast across NE Fl.
