Acting legend Gene Hackman died Wednesday under suspicious circumstances, leaving behind a memorable 50-plus-year career.

Their deaths have been subject to much speculation after it emerged that they were both found in different rooms of the home.

Gene Hackman, who won an Oscar for The French Connection and Unforgiven, was found dead in his Santa Fe home alongside wife, pianist Betsy Arakawa, and their dog, police confirmed.
