In perhaps one of the funniest turns of events in recent college football history, a golf cart carrying Ohio State head coach Ryan Day, quarterback Will Howard, and linebacker Cody Simon crashed into a wall in the tunnel of Mercedes-Benz Stadium after the Buckeyes defeated the Notre Dame Irish in the College Football Playoff Championship.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State head coach Ryan Day appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday, one week after the Buckeyes won the College Football Playoff National Championship. The trophy made an appearance with Day, and Fallon joked about how heavy it was.

Following the on-field ceremony for the Buckeyes’ 34-23 win over Notre Dame Monday night, head coach Ryan Day, quarterback Will Howard and linebacker Cody Simon were being driven in a golf cart from the field to the team’s postgame press conference in the bowels of Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Instead of a smooth ride through the tunnels at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Monday night, Ohio State coach Ryan Day found himself in a precarious situation. Day and several others were on a golf cart that crashed while trying to make a turn that it just absolutely could not make — which made for a pretty hilarious scene after their national championship victory.
