What was intended to be a dazzling festive spectacle ended in injury to a 7-year-old boy after several drones unexpectedly fell from the sky during a show in Florida on Saturday night, according to CNN affiliate reports.

Officials said one person was injured after drones fell from the sky during a holiday show over Eola Lake in Orlando.

Adriana Edgerton and Jessica Lumedge told CBS News the injured person was their 7-year-old son, Alezander, and said he needed emergency heart surgery. They told CBS affiliate WKMG that their son was hit in the stomach by one of the drones.

Two performances were scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 21. The second was canceled "due to technical difficulties," the City of Orlando posted on Facebook.

The incident injured a seven-year-old boy and led to the cancellation of a second show scheduled later that night.
