After superstar pass-rusher Aidan Hutchinson went down for the season, the Lions had a gaping hole on their otherwise Super Bowl-caliber roster. Detroit legitimately had everything except for a difference-maker off the defensive edge, a place that some of the other NFC powers (and the AFC’s heavyweights) could probably exploit in the postseason.

Now quarterback Dak Prescott is on that list. With the Cowboys sitting at 3-5 and Mike McCarthy in a contract year, owner/general manager Jerry Jones took some time to evaluate how injuries would affect his evaluation of the head coach’s season.

Some pointed out that Jerry Jones and the Cowboys gave up more for Mingo than the Kansas City Chiefs did to get star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins two weeks ago. Others just thought it was a really bad trade.
