LeBron James and his son Bronny were invited to take part in the Skills Challenge at the upcoming NBA All-Star Game, but that invitation was declined.

Playing in the NBA takes an immense amount of hard work and a level of skill not many athletes possess. However, being the eldest son of LeBron James, Bronny James Jr. was blessed with the latter part.

So, while the elder James will be jet-setting out to the rat-infested Paris of the West to buddy up with the league’s other All-Stars — including the first Knickerbocker starting duo in 50 years — his first-born will be at home. Or, more likely, the gym.

Thursday also brought news the NBA wanted LeBron and his son, Bronny to become the first father-son duo to participate in one aspect of All-Star Weekend. But they declined.

It is also worth noting that with the new All-Star format, Bronny technically had a chance to go up against his father if his Rising Stars team won and LeBron James' All-Star team won. It would have been quite the spectacle, but unfortunately for fans, it will not be happening this time around.
