Ohio High School Athletic Association track and field state championship meet continues this morning at at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The two-day meet is June 6-7 on Ohio State's campus.

Ambrosio ran a 9:01.78 at the state tournament that year, which held up as a school record and top 10 time in the state ever, until Friedrich displaced him Saturday. Friedrich was the lone sub nine-minute runner in the field, finishing the race in 8:57.74. That’s the fifth fastest time the state has ever seen regardless of division.
