USC jumped out to an early 9-0 lead to and watched it balloon to eighteen at 51-33 by the early stages of the third quarter. Juju scored 19 of her 25 points during that span and did so from the midrange, around the basket and beyond the arc.

And Watkins had the last laugh as her Trojans won a down-to-the-wire thriller in the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, 72-70, giving USC some redemption after losing to UConn in the Elite Eight last year. Fans absolutely loved to see two of the sport’s biggest stars clashing again.

JuJu Watkins and Paige Bueckers both showed out in a primetime matchup between two of the brightest stars in women’s basketball.

JuJu Watkins and the USC Trojans got the biggest victory of the season thus far with a road win over Paige Bueckers and the UConn Huskies on Saturday. The biggest victory, however, may have come after the game.

Much to the delight of the road Trojans, it was their star, JuJu Watkins, who led her team over Bueckers in a game featuring two of the nation’s best players. Watkins finished USC ’s 72-70 victory with a game-high 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field while adding six rebounds and five assists.

USC and UConn played a classic women's basketball game on Saturday night and Grizzlies guard Ja Morant was loving it.

JuJu Watkins scored 25 points and No. 7 USC recovered from blowing a 18-point second half lead to beat Paige Bueckers and fourth-ranked UConn 72-70 on Saturday night.

With future pros dotting the rosters, Watkins and USC get revenge on Paige Bueckers and U-Conn after last year’s Elite Eight matchup.
