April through June average more severe storms and tornadoes than any other portion of the year, so the time is now to get severe-weather ready. Another significant Spring storm system will intensify quickly as it moves into the Plains and Midwest.

A complex storm system is still set to bring the potential for severe weather across Michigan on Wednesday. Currently much of the Lower Peninsula is under at least a slight risk for severe weather (2 out of 5) with the southern portion of the state south of I-96 under an enhanced risk (3 out of 5).

The Storm Prediction Center has consistently put much of Georgia including Atlanta in a level 3 risk for storms that could turn severe. Right now, the main threats look to be pockets of heavy rain, some damaging wind possible and there is the possibility of a brief tornado risk.
