A street takeover in North Portland on Tuesday night resulted in the arrests of two teenagers and vehicles being towed, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Oscar L. Leal-Mendoza, 19, was arrested at the scene and faces unlawful-street-takeover and reckless-driving charges, police said. On nearby North Marine Drive, 18-year-old Nicole R. Bell was stopped after speeding at almost 100 miles per hour, police said. She faces reckless-driving, attempt-to-elude and resisting-arrest charges.

Portland Police ended a street takeover, arrested a man for reckless driving, and towed vehicles involved in the incident.

After a range of recent crime in one North Portland neighborhood, residents fear retaliation and don't feel as safe as they used to.

Two vehicles were stopped and one driver, Oscar L. Leal-Mendoza, 19, was arrested for unlawful street takeover and reckless driving. Officers in the area said they also stopped a different driver who was caught going almost 100 miles per hour on North Marine Drive.
