A large water main break in Shaler Township Thursday morning has caused part of the road to buckle. The Hampton Shaler Water Authority said the break on a 16-inch main happened around 3:45 a.m. Right now, there’s no word on how many people are affected.

Once service is restored, customers who have lost water service should allow water to run through a sink or tub faucet until it is clear. In case of a water emergency, residents should also immediately report any suspected water main break by calling 311 in Baltimore City or 443-263-2220 in Baltimore County.

A water main break on North Sappington Road in Glendale caused the closure of the road and North Glendale Elementary School, due to the lack of water. Repairs are expected to take approximately 6 hours,

Deputy Director of Detroit Water and Sewerage said the city's crews are "treading water" as they repair breaks and wait for warmer temperatures.
