There are only two and have only ever been two!") Jasmine Cephas Jones, the actress who plays Peggy in Act 1, plays Maria Reynolds in Act 2.

Alexander was one of the only people with her when she died. They had a very close big brother/little sister relationship. Peggy’s husband was several years younger than she was and it appears that she looked up to Alexander a lot and she, Stephen, Alexander, and Angelica got into all sorts of trouble together.

I actually really like how she was used to show a different opinion than the main characters in The Schuyler Sisters. The lines: "It's bad enough Daddy wants to go to war" and "It's bad enough there'll be violence on our shore" contrasted with Angelica's more aggressive view, and probably represented a lot of American's opinions at the time.

Sep 19, 2016 · In “Take a Break”, her absence is notable. Eliza and Angelica exchange greetings, there is a pause before Alexander sings, ‘the Schuyler sisters’, where Peggy would have sung her name. Historically, Peggy and Alexander were very good friends, and when she was sick Alexander would sit by her bed and talk to her. So sweet.
