The Records Division is responsible for the filing and maintenance of all police records. The members of the division conduct record checks and issue handicap permits.

The City of Middletown Police Department's patrol division is divided into four patrol squads. Each squad is commanded by a Lieutenant, who is assisted by a patrol road Sergeant. The patrol division is responsible to protect and preserve life and property in our community.

The City of Middletown Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in helping us to address quality of life issues in an around our neighborhoods. Explore more about common complaints the department is looking for and how to submit.

The City will provide to each Police Officer a handbook containing the Rules and Regulations of the City of Middletown Police Department. A copy of this handbook will be posted at Police Headquarters.

Several of their duties include appointing police officers, promoting officers to sergeant and lieutenant, and selecting the chief of police from eligible candidates. In addition, the police commission approves rules and regulations governing the police department.
